A Thought About Reconcilliation: |
The divorce rate in our society is far too great. At 43 percent, it is evident that conditions that make a life-long relationship enjoyable and desirable have been compromised. While there are many factors that contribute to the demise of the marriage relationship, selfish and unrealistic expectations lead the way. The same is true in our relationship with God. However, He has provided a means for reconciliation through Christ so that our relationship with Him remains intact. This involves unconditional love. Only through reconciliation; understanding and accepting differences and practicing unconditional love, can a broken marriage be restored. The exciting part is that couples that have accomplished this testify to a far better life together than they expected- even after a divorce!
“For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in Christ and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through his blood shed on the cross.”
Colossians 1: 19, 20. |
